Why safe water comes first

No one can go a day without water, yet in many villages the nearest water is not safe. Diarrhoea, skin disease and more often start there.

Before installing a tube well

• Test the water for arsenic and iron.
• Keep the well away from latrines and waste.
• Agree in advance who will look after it.
